How We Organize Games by Grade
Our grade-level system follows the typing skill progression most elementary schools use. Each grade level focuses on specific skills that build on what came before:
- Pre-K & Kindergarten: Letter recognition — learning that pressing a key makes something happen on screen.
- 1st & 2nd Grade: Home row and keyboard layout — building the foundation of touch typing.
- 3rd Grade: Words and sentences — the turning point where typing becomes a practical skill.
- 4th & 5th Grade: Speed and accuracy — fluent typing that prepares them for middle school and beyond.
- Middle School (6th-8th): Endurance and mastery — sustained speed past 35 WPM with complex text under time pressure.
